Services
I offer a range of End of Life Doula and professional nursing services to meet the needs of people and families facing the end of life in the comfort of their home, nursing home, or assisted living facility.
End of Life Doula Services:
End of Life Doula care is holistic, supportive, nonmedical care for the dying and their families. Doula services I offer include:
- Assistance with determining a client's desires for their end of life care and ensuring that these goals are met by documentation in a Living Will, a Healthcare Power of Attorney and/or a POLST (Physician's Orders for Life Saving Treatment).
- Assistance with funeral planning.
- Assistance with caregiving by family and friends.
- Facilitating conversations between family members
- Providing compassionate emotional support and a gentle presence.
- Providing supportive holistic therapies such as essential oils, Kabbalistic healing, guided imagery, meditation and spiritual support.
- Providing referrals for other holistic therapies as desired.
- Sitting vigil with family and friends to support them and their loved one during the transition from this life.
Professional Nursing Services:
Facing a serious illness and/or the end of life is difficult. As an experienced Hospice Nurse, I can help by answering questions; explaining what to expect; teaching how to care for a loved one; organizing medications, treatments and supplies; coordinating care with other medical professionals; providing emotional support; making connections with community resources and other services as needed.
For families living at a distance, coordinating and supervising a loved one's care can become frustrating and time consuming. I can help by visiting your loved one, wherever they may reside; providing support and education to live in caregivers; accompanying your loved one to doctor's appointments and reporting back, and other services as needed.
